Air Canada has filed a lawsuit against a top official of the Obama administration in an attempt to quash a recent U.S. ruling that would prevent the airline from flying Canadian hockey teams between regular-season games south of the border. The airline filed a request for a court injunction this week that called U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood’s clamp down on Air Canada’s sports charter services an “arbitrary and capricious action contrary to law.” The strongly worded suit warned that the resulting cross-border spat would wreak havoc” on the coming professional hockey season
